The 5th Edition of FIMI creates nearly 100 looks
The 78th Edition of FIMI has welcomed the fifth convention of “Nuditos”, a place where design students and future designers can display their looks, which reinforces the FIMI commitment to creativity and quality. In total 54 students showed creativity and avant-garde.
This time more than 50 students from different countries could exhibit their work in addition to various workshops. They were organized for all professionals during the conference “from novice to veteran”, “Entrepreneurs and solidarity” by Pepa González, the director of Pepa & Co.
“From novice to veteran”, a plus in FIMI
The prestigious Designers Modesto Lomba and Fernando Lemoniez, participated in the talk “From novice to veteran”, moderated by the sociologist and journalist Pedro Mansilla. This talk was aimed at the students participating in Nuditos where both artists expressed their love for fashion. “Sometimes it is very difficult to engage in this world, but it’s always exiting, challenging and rewarding.” However they also criticized the fact that the profession is trivialized -“fashion: what it is interesting abroad, here it is fun.”
Here, too often is fashion very superficial, which means “we do a lot of work behind the scenes, we are not only dedicated to partying, but the media only publishes our frivolous side.” Both creators wanted to accompany the participants of the Nuditos, as they say: “They are the future, without the future everything is lost.”

Young talented designers are also going to present their fresh and original designs on three days of the Fashion Week competition. Inés Restrepo won the award “Choose your Nudito” for presenting a collection of pure pink dresses.
