Trade visitors take to the halls of BKSFIMI 2025 on its first day

Babykid Spain + FIMI has started strongly in this fifth edition due to the high forecast of visits from foreign buyers, from 40 countries. This places the event as a reference for professionals in the world of children, a fair that has become fashionable and is explained by the union of all sectors around children: fashion, toys, childcare, and footwear.

Around 500 brands from nearly 40 countries are present at the leading event in the world of children, which is being held at Feria Valencia and was inaugurated this Wednesday by Felipe Carrasco, regional secretary for Industry of the Generalitat Valenciana.

According to Alicia Gimeno, director of the event, “BKSFIMI is consolidating its position as the leading event in innovation in the children’s sector.” Gimeno stresses that “the fair is a hotbed of ideas and trends, where exhibitors present their most avant-garde proposals for the next season. BKSFIMI is the ideal place to get ahead of fashions and discover the novelties that will mark the future of the market.”

Trends: children decide their own style
Boys and girls have their own criteria, a product of the cultural changes that have taken place over the last decade. That is the message that can be extracted from the new collections of the brands exhibiting at BKSFIMI. In this sense, the fashion trend is towards personalized garments and earth tones, sweatshirts, more comfortable clothing… paying attention to the tastes of children. The child consumer is increasingly younger and has a greater decision-making capacity, so manufacturers have put their batteries to adapt to the tastes of children. In this sense, Spanish children’s fashion has international prestige for its pattern, quality and also price, and a return to workshops and tradition is being observed, in order to increase production volume. The return to national production is a fact.

In childcare, manufacturers are betting on technology and also on sustainability, making it more comfortable for mothers and fathers to care for their babies and introducing natural elements into the production of their products, such as wax to create protective discs for breastfeeding. Sustainability is also evident in the creation of furniture and accessories that grow with the baby, and that can also be used at more advanced ages.

As for footwear, which has the largest representation of companies in recent years, the focus is on more comfortable and casual models, as well as a return to ballet flats.

Shooting, presentations and catwalks: the world of childhood is projected
During the opening day, a shooting was also held with the brands Náay Botanicals and Achupé Bebé, in addition to the world presentation of the new Jané stroller, which applies technological solutions for the safety and comfort of the baby.

This same afternoon, the FIMI Kids Fashion Week catwalk will also take place, which this year has the motto “Magic Winter Smiles”. With the support of ICEX, coordinated by ASEPRI and with the support of Feria Valencia, the brands Gocco, Boboli, Dadati, Nora Baby Bag By Cambrass, Newness, Tartaleta, Tuc Tuc, Nath and Javilar Kids will participate with the help of Tenerife Moda. In addition, the Junta de Castilla y León will support the parade of the brands Marae Kids, Azul Izal and Artesanias Filita. We will also have Carello, a childcare brand that will present its latest developments in strollers.

The FIMI Kids Fashion Week catwalk will have a second pass on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., which will be preceded by the traditional Nuditos parade, which will show the proposals of the young stars of children’s fashion from the EASD Castelló school.

The fifth edition of Babykid Spain + FIMI will end this Friday in Hall 7 of Feria Valencia.
