Internationalization and trends: the heart of the world’s only communion and ceremony fair

Día Mágico + FIMI is getting ready for a very special edition. From 12th to 14th May, Feria Valencia will be showcasing the trends and newest fashions in communion and ceremony wear for the 2024 season, with buyers from 20 countries set to attend. It will also be presenting a preview of the spring/summer season children’s fashions. Overall, more than 110 brands will be taking part in Día Mágico + FIMI.

The Undersecretary for Sustainable Economy, Production Sectors, Commerce and Employment, Natxo Costa, who is also CEO of Feria Valencia, will be leading the official opening of Día Mágico + FIMI at 12.00 tomorrow.

Día Mágico + FIMI, the most important event of the year for children’s fashion, is poised to open the doors of a fresh edition tomorrow that will highlight the latest trends in communion and ceremony fashion. Non-gender-specific communion outfits, classic outfits for events and ceremonies, accessories that combine gypsophila and metal, footwear designed to be comfortable, without losing sight of design…

Different styles will be rubbing shoulders from 12th to 14th May at Día Mágico + FIMI, two of Europe’s foremost fairs for children’s, communion and ceremony fashion: from utterly romantic collections  to the most mould-breaking, without forgetting the most classic lines. Also, thanks to Día Mágico and FIMI Spring/summer taking place at the same time, visitors will be treated to a preview of the freshest and most colourful collections for the 2024 season.

Día Mágico + FIMI will be wide-ranging. Communion dresses and suits will be on show along with ceremony wear, footwear, hair accessories, summer fashion, swimwear fashions… What will stand out at this major international event is the extremely high quality of the materials used and the fabrics with exclusive designs that make Spain a global powerhouse in children’s, communion and ceremony fashion. Collections made from fabrics that are increasingly eco, in which comfort is an indispensable element of added value.

All of this is what awaits the hundreds of Spanish and international professionals set to visit from this Friday. Buyers from major department stores, multiple retailers, key players, physical and online boutiques, franchise investors, distributors and marketplaces, amongst others, will be visiting Feria Valencia to see the new collections and latest styles for the 2024 season at first hand.

Professionals from a total of more than 20 countries are expected to visit, making this edition of Día Mágico + FIMI the most international ever . Ireland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, ItalY, France, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Ecuador, Panama and Puerto Rico are just some of the countries the buyers hail from.

Alicia Gimeno, director of Día Mágico + FIMI, also underscored how important Spanish visitors are. “98% of the country’s purchasing power comes to Día Mágico + FIMI”, she revealed. “And we attract new, quality buyers every year, who look to our event as the place to go for inspiration and to source products for the next season that will give them a point of difference”, she pointed out, adding that the profile of the foreign buyers who attend Día Mágico + FIMI is “very powerful”. “We are indisputably a platform for penetrating new markets”, she claimed, whilst at the same time thanking IVACE and ASEPRI (the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Products for Childhood) for their work  on the international VIP buyers programme.

For three days, professionals will have the opportunity to see the offering from more than 110 brands, which include leading designers and manufacturers such as Carmy, Marla, Amaya Fashion for Kids, Hortensia Maeso, Querida Philippa, Mon Air, Varones, Creaciones Charo, Mercedes de Alba, Beatriz Montero, Calzados Victoria, Eli 1957, Pisamonas, Eve Children, Tartaleta, Foque, Siena, Rapife, Rosa Clarà and Newness… Some of these will also be presenting their collections in a runway show that, uniquely in the world, is dedicated exclusively to communion and ceremony wear.

Paseo Mágico, the only fashion parade in the world dedicated exclusively to communion fashion

2023 sees the return of Paseo Mágico, a unique fashion parade  in which leading ceremony and communion fashion houses show their designs, kept under wraps for the whole season, to professionals and the media, revealing them direct to a specialist audience.

Top labels from the communion and ceremony fashion sector, such as Amaya Fashion For Kids, Beatriz Montero, Crisby’s, Javilar, La Infantita, Lilus, Marla, Mimilú and Mon Air, will be showing their new collections live during the Paseo Mágico show, their distinguishing features – their craftsmanship, design, finishes, cut and different, unforgettable fabrics – clear to see.

For the brands participating, Paseo Mágico provides a unique platform for presenting their new products and styles to the most demanding audience in the children’s fashion sector, which is a fantastic opportunity for companies that want to stand out and expand their presence on the Spanish and international markets.

“Paseo Mágico by FIMI is more than a parade. It is an event where people can meet and do business”, explains director Alicia Gimeno, noting that the brands taking part think that as well as the visibility it provides, the show is a different way to sell, direct. “It provides added value for professionals in children’s fashion. They have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive fashion parade that showcases design live”, says Gimeno. “The parade is no doubt where the movement of the dresses and suits, the colours and of course the complete outfits, can be appreciated along with the trends for the upcoming season”.

To top it all, Día Mágico by FIMI, the communion and ceremony fair, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this edition. It will be doing so in style from 12th to 14th May, hand in hand with everyone who is part of the industry. Together, brands, retailers and the event will be toasting another ten years, recalling how Día Mágico by FIMI has grown, echoing the industry’s growth, edition after edition, and has filled an important space as the only fair in the world centred exclusively on this type of fashion.
